The Texas Honor Guard Academy is honored to provide training to law enforcement honor guard teams in the State of Texas. This course includes instruction in basic honor guard movements, drill, flag folding and etiquette, casket vigil and movements, and rifle manual of arms. The 40-hour academy concludes with a mock funeral event. This course is open to Texas Peace Officers and is designed for new honor guard members to learn and develop honor guard skills. Our dedicated instructors have over 20 years combined experience in Texas police honor guards and look forward to teaching your new honor guard team members.

Our Field Training Program Management course is designed to develop skills for new program managers to aid them in managing their department's field training program. This course is also helpful for current program managers and department administrators to ensure your agency is following the San Jose Model of field training best practices and TPCA Accreditation standards. During this one day course we will dive into the elements to create a successful program, pitfalls to watch out for, instructor development and more. If your agency uses the San Jose Model of field training, this is the perfect course for your program manager or department administration.

Field Training Officer | February 8-11. 2025 (Saturday-Tuesday) | Little Elm, Texas

This Field Training Officer course teaches the ‘San Jose Model’ of field training and is eligible for TCOLE hours. In our experience the online versions of this course do not adequately prepare the police field trainer for the intricacies of training recruits in the 21st century. Strengthen your agency by sending your new FTOs to this in person course designed to prepare your field trainers for the challenges awaiting them.

CANCELLATIONS & NO-SHOWS

Texas Thin Line Training reserves the right to cancel training courses that do not meet the minimum number of registrants at least seven days before their start date. In those circumstances, Texas Thin Line Training will provide a full refund.

Students who wish to cancel their registration must notify Texas Thin Line Training via email at least 15 calendar days before the course start date to receive a refund. There is a $30 administrative refund processing fee for courses or workshops over four hours in length.

No-shows and cancelations made less than 15 calendar days before a course start date will be charged in full. Partial attendance is not allowed.
